The Raven Inheritance

A box has arrived from Aunt Liv. On top lie a postcard and a cypher wheel; underneath are thirteen envelopes, each marked with four runes.

Played best on a laptop, desktop or tablet, alone or together. Take your time: progress saves as you go.

How to play

Liv’s keepsakes lie on the table at real size. Read them, turn them over and put them together. When you find a code, set it on the cypher wheel beside the box. The wheel shows four runes: open the envelope marked with the same runes. Each envelope holds more keepsakes.

Mouse

  • Drag to move. Edges snap together; hold Alt to place freely.
  • Hover for Zoom, Rotate, Flip and Move.
  • Double-click for a readable close-up.
  • Ctrl + scroll, or + / −, zooms the table; drag the empty table to pan.

Tablet

  • Tap a keepsake for its tools; double-tap for a close-up.
  • Pinch the table to zoom, drag the empty table to pan.
  • Hold a keepsake and twist with a second finger to turn it.

Keyboard

  • M magnifier (scroll over the lens for strength)
  • R rotate, F flip, Enter close-up
  • + − 0 zoom, arrows move a keepsake
  • On the wheel: type the code (space is the blank), or ↑ next ↓ back

Hints are optional: under the wheel, open Hint 1, 2, 3 …, or the Solution. New keepsakes never push yours aside. Only Tidy table moves them, stacking older keepsakes in piles (click a pile’s name to take one out); for the last envelope, every postcard and map comes back out. Progress saves in this browser; “Save a copy” keeps a backup or moves it to another device.
